Everything about Bob and Barbara Van Rozen's marriage seems like a dream. Their shared passion for antiques, their two children and their beautiful home. While Bob throws herself into his career and making enough money, Barbara hangs up her studies and focuses entirely on raising the children and furnishing their absolute dream home. Bob and Barbara. Cake and cake. Peace and quiet. Everything seems to be right...

Until the house is decorated to the last detail and the children are out of the house. Barbara searches desperately for a new lease on life and starts a catering business on her own. But through this new beginning and this new life, she takes everything under the microscope. Especially her marriage. And so she comes to the conclusion that she and Bob have grown completely apart. So she files for divorce.
Now a divorce can be easily arranged ... But what if neither wants to part with that one symbol of prosperity, taste and style: the house? The house becomes the stakes of a bizarre fighting divorce. Both refuse to give in and come up with increasingly creative ways to drive the other out of the house. A couple connected in love for years is now connected in anger and blind hatred.

The once happy marriage of the Van Rozens degenerates into a war: The War of the Roses. And in it, nothing and no one is spared....
